Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were cozy and spotless, though a bit basic compared to similar options at the same price point. The service was a mixed bag; some staff members were friendly and helpful, while others seemed off and unengaged. The location was convenient for visiting York, despite some maintenance issues in the grounds. The dining experience was hit or miss, with limited choices in cooked foods but good quality for the full English breakfast. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.
The hotel had spacious rooms with a nice bath and shower, but some unpleasant odors and noise disturbances. The service was lacking, with staff complaining and showing little enthusiasm. The location was convenient for accessing nearby attractions but lacked local dining options. The dining experience was subpar, especially the breakfast service. However, the hotel offers interesting on-site facilities.
Despite booking months in advance, my stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room with a king-size bed was spacious and clean, but the loud landure machine just outside my bedroom window woke me up at 5 am. The location was ideal for what I needed, out in the country yet not too far from York, though the constant noise from the landure machine was a downside. The dining experience was rather limited, with seasonal local products available. Overall, a stay with some drawbacks but also some positives.
